Revenue Integrity Charge Analyst

This role involves managing revenue integrity by educating employees and clinical departments on correct claim coding, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining the charge description master (CDM) for accurate billing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Educating on correct coding using CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPCS
  • Assigning pricing and ensuring regulatory compliance within the CDM
  • Analyzing and resolving billing edits related to coding
  • Implementing coding, pricing, and revenue code updates
  • Serving as chargemaster liaison for clinical departments and ancillary services
  • Reviewing annual coding changes and preparing educational materials
  • Developing documentation templates with correct CPT/diagnosis codes
  • Analyzing billing errors and denials to identify root causes
  • Collaborating with various departments to resolve claims issues
  • Ensuring appropriate billing data is correctly placed on claims
  • Assisting with charge clean-up activities and database maintenance

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in business or related field plus 3 years in revenue integrity, charge capture, charge master, or revenue cycle operations (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Experience with charge description master and hospital billing preferred
  • Certifications such as CPC, COC, CCA, CCS, or RHIT preferred

Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle practices and concepts
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiar with CPT, HCPCS, and revenue codes

Additional Info:

  • Must work 20+ hours/week to qualify for benefits

  • Regular attendance and ability to work required schedule and overtime
