The Charge Description Master (CDM) Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight, integrity, and maintenance of the organization's CDM. This role ensures accurate charge capture, regulatory compliance, and alignment with coding and billing requirements to support optimal reimbursement.
Key responsibilities include overseeing development and optimization of the CDM, ensuring accuracy and compliance with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding standards, collaborating with departments to validate charge processes, conducting audits, coordinating regulatory updates, analyzing reimbursement trends, supporting system updates (including Epic), and providing education on CDM processes.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, Finance, or related field; 5+ years in revenue integrity, CDM management, or hospital billing; strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10; experience with healthcare billing systems (Epic preferred); familiarity with CMS regulations and payer methodologies.
Preferred qualifications: RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or CCS certification; experience with charge capture optimization; strong analytical skills; advanced Excel or data analysis skills.
