Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and vital signs to ensure safe treatment plans.
Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort.
Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality and secure handling of medical records.
Requirements:
Valid Dental Hygiene license with current state licensure to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Proven experience in general or pediatric dentistry environments with strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding.
Familiarity with infection control practices, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques in a dental setting.
Ability to perform dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, taking x-rays, and patient care management.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices if working with children or adolescents.
Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and medical records management.
