Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and revenue cycle metrics to identify trends, create and maintain reports and dashboards for leadership, and perform root cause analysis on revenue cycle issues.
Ensure prevention of payment denials and resolution of claims by investigating and correcting claim edits, denials, holds, system edits, and billing rules set up.
Oversee charge master (CDM) accuracy, test updates, and integrate new services. Update CPT, HCPCS, and revenue codes to ensure accurate pricing and billing transparency.
Determine appropriate methods to analyze operations, relevant information, and data. Create new queries and analysis tools, develop databases as needed, and acquire desired data.
Interpret results, identify trends, and provide business insights and performance metrics to leadership using data analysis methods and modeling.
Provide training and resources to clinical and billing staff on proper charging and documentation practices.
Perform ad hoc analysis to support the operational needs of the Patient Accounts Department.
Effectively communicate findings of analyses and audits to support operational and financial decisions.
Serve as a local support and super user in systems including EMR, clearinghouse, and denial variance tools; collaborate with associates to identify issues, root causes, and recommend process improvements.
Provide project management support for leadership; lead implementation plans to ensure workflow stability.
Lead implementation and management of automation reports, dashboards, and SQL-based analytics tools for revenue cycle and business functions.
Create and manage documentation such as SOPs and data dictionaries for various data solutions, reports, and dashboards.
Work cooperatively with coworkers, providers, and management; share knowledge constructively.
Provide coverage to department as needed, maintain workflow without direct supervision, and manage conflicts professionally.
Comply with company policies and procedures, participate in training, and support compliance and risk management programs.
Bachelor's or associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Health Information Systems, Statistics, or related field.
Minimum of five years professional experience in healthcare, including working with large datasets, developing complex queries and analyses, managing multiple projects, and preparing reports for leadership.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, human anatomy, ICD-10/CPT coding, and medical insurance reimbursement models.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint), SQL, and Epic EMR.
Excellent communication, analytical thinking, facilitation, problem solving, and project leadership skills.
