Premier Dental of Connecticut- Fairfield in Fairfield, CT is seeking a confident, patient-first PRN (as-needed) Dental Hygienist. This flexible role allows you to choose workdays and supports a healthy work-life balance. You will deliver exceptional hygiene care including cleanings, periodontal assessments, patient education, and prevention coaching. You will collaborate with a clinical team focused on communication and positivity.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing thorough dental cleanings (scaling, polishing, fluoride treatments)
- Assisting dentists during exams and procedures using chairside techniques
- Taking and recording vital signs, medical histories, and patient assessments
- Utilizing dental imaging equipment for radiographs per infection control protocols
- Educating patients on oral hygiene and prevention, including pediatric care
- Maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA
- Following aseptic techniques to prevent infection transmission
- Supporting general dentistry procedures with record management and medical coding as needed
Required skills:
- Proficiency with EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of dental and medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Experience in pediatric dentistry and patient management
- Expertise in infection control and sterilization in dental settings
- Ability to provide compassionate, efficient patient care
- Familiarity with medical imaging and radiograph interpretation
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures for billing and documentation
Pay rate: $65.00 per hour
