Celebrate Dental & Braces is seeking an experienced and skilled dental assistant to join our team at our St. Joseph, MO office! As a dental assistant you will work closely with our dentists and team to provide high-quality dental care to our patients. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in dental assisting and possesses excellent communication skills.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Assist the dentist during dental procedures
Take dental x-rays
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments
Provide chairside assistance to the dentist
Perform basic laboratory duties, such as pouring and trimming models
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
Maintain accurate patient records
Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

Skills:

Proficiency in taking vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse rate
Knowledge of infection control procedures and protocols
Ability to perform patient assessments, including medical history review and oral health evaluation
Experience in taking dental x-rays
Familiarity with medical coding for dental procedures
Understanding of aseptic technique for instrument sterilization
Strong assisting skills, including passing instruments to the dentist, suctioning, and retracting tissues
Knowledge of medical imaging techniques used in dentistry
Ability to accurately document patient information and treatment plans using electronic medical records systems
Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry
