Celebrate Dental & Braces is seeking an experienced and skilled dental assistant to join our team at our St. Joseph, MO office! As a dental assistant you will work closely with our dentists and team to provide high-quality dental care to our patients. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in dental assisting and possesses excellent communication skills.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Take dental x-rays
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist
- Perform basic laboratory duties, such as pouring and trimming models
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Skills:
- Proficiency in taking vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse rate
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and protocols
- Ability to perform patient assessments, including medical history review and oral health evaluation
- Experience in taking dental x-rays
- Familiarity with medical coding for dental procedures
- Understanding of aseptic technique for instrument sterilization
- Strong assisting skills, including passing instruments to the dentist, suctioning, and retracting tissues
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques used in dentistry
- Ability to accurately document patient information and treatment plans using electronic medical records systems
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry

Requirements & Qualifications
- 1 year of dental assisting experience preferred
- EFDA Certification preferred
- Strong background in dental assisting
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to take dental x-rays and perform basic laboratory duties

- Familiarity with medical coding for dental procedures
- Ability to document patient information using EMR systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry
