  • Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care tailored to their individual needs.
  • Assist with chairside procedures, ensuring smooth workflow during treatments such as restorations or extractions.
  • Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and progress notes in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality at all times.

Requirements:

Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred, with strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Proficiency in dental office software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, along with familiarity with medical coding and documentation review. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency during procedures. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic environment. Ability to perform patient care tasks such as vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and patient assessment confidently. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs and treatment options.
