The Epic Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst is responsible for the functional support, optimization, and issue resolution of Epic Hospital Billing, Professional Billing, and Claims workflows.
This role acts as a subject matter expert in revenue cycle and collaborates with departments including Revenue Integrity, Patient Access, Patient Financial Services, Health Information Management (HIM), Compliance, and IT. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing advanced functional support for Epic Revenue Cycle applications and serving as liaison between Revenue Cycle leadership and IT.
- Supporting professional billing workflows such as charge capture, claim edits, and reimbursement processes.
- Troubleshooting complex revenue cycle issues from billing to payment.
- Coordinating with Epic partners for build requests and system changes.
- Partnering with leadership for process improvement focusing on billing accuracy, claim timeliness, denial prevention, and reimbursement.
- Supporting claims processing functionalities, ensuring compliance with payer requirements.
- Collaborating with HIM, Compliance, and Revenue Integrity to align documentation, coding, and billing.
- Analyzing revenue cycle performance using Epic reporting tools and delivering reports for decision-making.
- Leading workflow reviews, facilitating training, and providing user support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields (MBA or MHA preferred). Equivalent experience in Revenue Cycle or IT considered.
- Minimum 5 years of business analysis or related experience with data analytics expertise.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Microsoft 365 tools.
- Proficiency in Epic Revenue Cycle applications (e.g., Cadence, Charge Master, Clarity, Cogito/Caboodle, Hospital/Professional Billing, HIM).
- Required certifications in Epic modules such as Hospital Billing, Professional Billing, Prelude, HIM, Cogito, Cadence, Clarity, or Grand Central.
