The Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Analyst role at Cardinal Health focuses on clinical and administrative processes that healthcare providers use to capture, bill, and collect patient service revenue. The revenue cycle includes the entire patient care journey starting with appointment scheduling and ending when the patient's balance is zero.
Responsibilities include submitting medical documentation and billing data to insurance providers, researching and appealing denied or rejected claims, preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims electronically or by paper, following up on unpaid claims, contacting insurance companies to resolve payment discrepancies, and reviewing insurance payments for accuracy.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a bachelor's degree in a business-related field preferred, or equivalent work experience. A minimum of 2 years experience in Revenue Cycle Management is preferred.
Skills required include strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, ability to work independently and in teams, multitasking, excellent problem-solving, communication skills, familiarity with ICD-10 coding, computer and calculator proficiency, and knowledge of medical terminology.
Prior experience with EdgePark or Cardinal Health at Home Customer Operations is preferred. This role involves following established procedures under direct supervision, working on limited scope projects, and developing professional competence through structured assignments.
Work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00-4:30 pm EST or based on business needs, with remote work allowed.
