This is a professional position providing direct patient care. Activities are performed independently but with clinical oversight by Physicians, Site Medical Director, and/or Vice President of Clinical Affairs.
Candidates must be graduates of a Nurse Practitioner program.
Required certifications and licenses by date of hire and maintained during employment include:
- New Mexico Board of Nursing license with certification as Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist / Family Practice or Certification from New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners
- DEA license
- New Mexico Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
- Medicare PIN and UPIN numbers
- Medicaid Number
- BLS/CPR or ACLS certification within 30 days of hire (ACLS certification mandatory if assigned to center with ACLS medications/equipment)
Screening requirements include compliance with HR policies regarding healthcare personnel testing & immunization such as TB, Hepatitis B, Tdap, MMR, Varicella, influenza vaccines per CDC and NMDOH timelines.
Additional pre-employment requirements for Checkerboard Area Health System assignment include successful Criminal Records Check.
