Nurse Practitioner

La Paz Regional Hospital & Clinics

The Nurse Practitioner position provides comprehensive, patient-centered care across various clinical settings, ensuring high standards of medical service to the community. Responsibilities include conducting thorough patient assessments, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic health conditions, prescribing medications, providing patient education on disease prevention and health promotion, collaborating with healthcare teams to develop care plans, monitoring patient progress, documenting interactions and treatments, coordinating patient care including referrals and follow-ups, engaging in continuous professional development, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and mentoring healthcare staff.

Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and stretching, with adequate hearing, visual acuity, fine motor skills, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to adapt to a variable schedule including urgent care patients. Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Meditech is preferred.

Requirements & Qualifications

Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.

Current valid Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner License in Arizona or eligibility to obtain.

BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.

American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification and Controlled Substance Registration Certificate (DEA) required.

CDL Certification within 6 months of hire to perform physicals.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.

Ability to manage high caseloads while maintaining patient safety and quality care.

Preferred prior experience as a Nurse Practitioner, especially in rural health settings.
