Anesthesiologist

ECAA - Anesthesia Specialists

ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, located in Ahoskie, North Carolina, is seeking a General Anesthesiologist for a full-time, 26 weeks halftime position. This rural 114-bed medical center serves approximately 40,000 patients annually, providing around 200 anesthetics monthly. The anesthesiologist will work collaboratively with certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) and manage anesthesia care primarily for general surgery, OB-GYN, dental, pediatrics, podiatry, pain management, GI, and endoscopy procedures.

The position offers a schedule of two weeks on/two weeks off with weekday shifts and shared on-call duties evenings and weekends. The anesthesiologist will evaluate and plan anesthetics, supervise CRNAs, and ensure safe care from preoperative assessments through postoperative recovery.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from accredited medical school
  • Board Certification or Eligibility (BC/BE) in anesthesiology
  • NC medical license
  • Minimum 3+ years anesthesia experience in high acuity or similar setting
  • Strong regional anesthesia skills (fellowship not required)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to patient safety and high work ethic
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, performance-driven environment
