Advanced Practice Provider (Pulmonary)

We are seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider to join our Pulmonary department to provide comprehensive ambulatory care to patients with chronic sleep disorders. Working collaboratively with faculty physicians, fellows, residents, and respiratory therapists, in this role you will strive for clinical excellence while overseeing the progress of a caseload of patients. This is a Mon-Fri, 8-5 position offering an annual salary range of $127,504.00-$161,782.40.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed history and physical examinations in the clinic and evaluate and manage patients with sleep disorders including obstructive sleep apnea, central sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, and circadian rhythm disorders
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests including sleep studies (polysomnography and home sleep apnea testing) and laboratory studies, review and interpret results and compliance download data, and titrate CPAP/BiPAP therapy accordingly
  • Work collaboratively with pulmonary and sleep medicine faculty physicians and fellows while communicating effectively with primary care providers and referring physicians and specialists
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans, and provide expert consultation for clinical issues promoting increased knowledge and skills for the consultee
  • Maintain a database of all patients on PAP and ensure that they are seen annually or at shorter intervals if necessary
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive documentation in the electronic health record, ensuring appropriate coding and billing for services rendered

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse; experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
  • Current national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C/FNP-BC) or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP-BC)
  • Current BLS certification; current DEA license or ability to obtain
  • Interest in pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine, or internal medicine and familiarity with chronic disease management and patient education strategies
