Anesthesiologist (Cardiac-Trained) - Partnership Track, W-2 or Day Coverage

ECAA - Anesthesia Specialists

The role involves providing anesthetics at CaroMont Regional Medical Center and Belmont Hospital in the rural Charlotte area. Responsibilities include conducting patient evaluations, examinations, medical histories, developing anesthetic plans, providing medical supervision to certified registered nurse anesthetists, using various anesthesia techniques including strong regional anesthesia during outpatient procedures and surgeries, and monitoring post-operative care.

Opportunities to perform cardiac cases including CABG, valves, aortic dissections, TAVRs, TMVRs, laser led removals, Impella placement, and likely LVADs soon. Cases also include neuro, OB, ortho, ENT, pediatric, GI, endocrine, and general surgery. A cardiothoracic fellowship is required.

Call schedule is 1 in 10, shared with 9 other physicians, 2-3 call shifts per month, about one weekend per month. Options for partnership, W-2 employment, or Monday-Friday day coverage with no nights, weekends or call.

Duties include administering anesthetics, anesthesia maintenance, patient record keeping, ordering diagnostic tests, working with surgical specialists, venous and arterial punctures, pre-anesthesia evaluations, post-anesthesia care, mechanical ventilation monitoring, patient and family communication, responding to complications, evaluating lab and surgical plans, managing airway and extubation, supervising nurse anesthetists, and mentoring interns, residents, and fellows.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from accredited medical school
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Anesthesiology
  • Strong regional anesthesia skills (fellowship not required)
  • NC state medical license
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience providing anesthetics in high acuity or similar setting
  • Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
  • Strong commitment to patient care and safety
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, performance-driven environment
