Charge Master Specialist

At Augusta Health, you will contribute to a patient-centered environment as a Charge Master Specialist responsible for the formulation and maintenance of all charge masters within the organization. Your key duties involve coordinating and reviewing charge master changes, ensuring compliance with third-party payer regulations, communicating requirements to staff and management, and collaborating with business office personnel and other groups. You will monitor regulatory changes, coordinate charge master reviews and audits, provide educational information, safeguard patient confidentiality, and maintain proficiency in software tools including Meditech and Microsoft Office.

You will also help develop reports, analyze data, research charge capture processes, and assist in policy development. Strong communication, confidentiality, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are essential. You must be able to work effectively under deadlines and maintain a positive attitude while supporting organizational goals.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of revenue cycle experience related to charge capture, reimbursement, billing, or coding.
  • Preferred 3-5 years of direct charge master maintenance experience in a hospital.
  • Experience with Meditech Expanse is a plus.
  • Certification through AAHAM, AAPC, HFMA or other nationally recognized revenue cycle association preferred.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare billing, medical terminology, and strong computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, ability to handle deadlines and multiple tasks.
