Physician - Nursing Home

Essen Medical Associates

Essen Health Care is seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Physicians for their Nursing Home Division in various locations including Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Poughkeepsie, Long Island, and Westchester County. The physician will provide primary medical care services to nursing home patients, including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing treatment and medications, ordering laboratory and radiology tests, referring patients to specialists, advising on lifestyle and diet changes, and maintaining confidentiality and accurate medical records.

Responsibilities include working collaboratively with the primary healthcare team to deliver high-quality care, adhering to policies and quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring patient safety and infection control standards.

Candidates must have a Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited US medical school, Board Certification or Eligibility in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, Palliative Care/Hospice, or Family Medicine, completion of residency, active New York State medical license, and DEA registration (or ability to obtain). Experience in primary care and diagnostic services is required. Residents and fellows are encouraged to apply.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, Palliative Care/Hospice, or Family Medicine
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited US medical school
  • Completion of residency at an accredited institution or US residency/five-year pathway
  • Active New York State Medical Practitioner License
  • Current DEA and DPS registration for prescription writing (can be obtained during credentialing)
  • Experience providing primary care and diagnostic services
  • Ability to work in a collaborative healthcare team environment
  • Residents and fellows encouraged to apply
