Position will be remote, with some possible in-office hours.
This role supports the Home Health Revenue Cycle Department by performing daily billing and collection operations. The specialist ensures patient accounts are handled in compliance with company policy and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate patient billing records, ensuring confidentiality, posting cash, balancing monies received from insurance plans, tracking overpayments and underpayments, processing payments to nursing facilities for Medicaid patients, handling admissions, deaths, bed hold days, transfers, and discharges, billing insurance plans for denials and collections, maintaining timely filing, and reviewing monthly aging and month-end billing reconciliation.
The role also involves maintaining days in AR at or below 60-90 days, supporting cash flow, and reporting issues to the Revenue Cycle Manager.
Associate degree in a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
3-5 years of experience in home health billing.
Recent experience with home health billing software.
Knowledge of DDE is required.
Experience with private pay, home health payors, and medical collections is strongly preferred.
