The Home Health Billing and Collections Specialist is responsible for daily billing and collection operations within the Home Health Revenue Cycle Department. This role ensures patient accounts are handled in compliance with Interim HealthCare policy and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate patient billing records, posting cash, tracking overpayments and underpayments, processing Medicaid-related payments for nursing facilities, billing insurance plans for denials and collections, and managing month-end billing, aging, and reconciliation activities. The role also requires maintaining positive working relationships with nursing homes, health information, accounts payable, and other providers to support timely and accurate payments.
The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and is remote with some possible in-office hours.
Qualifications
- Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred in a related field, or equivalent education, training, and experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in home health billing
- Recent experience using home health billing software
- Knowledge of DDE is required
- Strong background in medical collections
- Ability to take on new tasks easily
- Candidate should ideally reside in Ohio
