Performs case finding, abstraction, database maintenance, report production, and patient follow-up for the trauma registry.
This is a hybrid position with a flexible schedule at Piedmont Augusta Hospital.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Strong medical coding background required
- Associate degree in a health-related field required
- In lieu of a degree: 4 years of clinical healthcare experience or 4 years of data abstraction or coding experience with a high school diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
- No experience required
- 1 year of medical coding experience in a hospital setting preferred
- 2 years of work experience with a strong emphasis on data integrity and analysis preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- No license required
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure preferred
- CSTR - Certified Specialist Trauma Registry preferred
- ICD-10 certification preferred
- CAISS - Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist preferred
