Datavant is a healthcare data collaboration platform focused on making health data secure, accessible, and actionable. This role supports a medical facility in Kalamazoo, MI and is responsible for processing Release of Information (ROI) requests, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and ensuring the accurate and timely release of protected health information (PHI).
The position is hybrid and requires travel onsite 2–3 days per week, with additional coverage as needed for PTO or out-of-office support. The schedule is Monday through Friday, either 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM EST, based on business needs.
Key responsibilities include processing ROI requests, retrieving and compiling medical records from EMR systems, generating reports, maintaining documentation and request tracking, and communicating with healthcare staff, patients, and requestors. The role also supports onsite coverage and must maintain productivity and quality standards.
Training includes Datavant DHISC training and hands-on role-specific onboarding during the first 30 days.
High school diploma or GED required.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
1 year of health information-related experience.
Ability to commute between locations as needed.
Ability to work overtime during peak seasons when required.
Strong communication skills.
Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.
Computer proficiency and data entry accuracy.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred.
