The ROI Specialist provides on-site support at a client facility for patient medical record release requests.
This position is located on site at Blount Hospital in Maryville, TN.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing requestor information and determining which records may be released in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Obtaining pertinent patient data from electronic, off-site, and physical records.
- Answering phone calls related to ROI issues.
- Responding to walk-in customers requesting medical records and logging information into the ROI On-Line database.
- Processing requests from physician offices on a priority basis and faxing information as needed.
- Logging and scanning medical record requests into the ROI On-Line database.
- Complying with site facility policies and regulations.
- Handling and recording cash payments for requests when required.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- Proficiency using computer applications.
- One or more years of experience entering data into computer systems.
- Experience using the internet.
- Ability to work independently and meet production goals.
- Strong verbal communication skills and proven success responding to customer inquiries.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Dependability.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in Release of Information in a physician's office or HIM department preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations preferred.
