We are seeking a dedicated and personable Release of Information (ROI) Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with others and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service. The ROI Specialist plays an important role in supporting patients and healthcare providers while helping to advance the organization’s mission to continuously improve the health and well-being of the people we serve.
This position is responsible for processing and completing medical records requests accurately and efficiently, answering phones, assisting patients and providers professionally, retrieving and returning patient charts, and scanning and maintaining medical records in the electronic system. Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor based on skills and abilities.
The ideal candidate is dependable, has a strong work ethic, communicates well, and is comfortable engaging with patients and staff in a professional and compassionate manner while maintaining strict confidentiality. A solid understanding of computer systems, especially electronic medical records, is important. The ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage responsibilities effectively is essential.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working with electronic medical records and computer systems
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
