This full-time Monday through Friday position is primarily day shift with some flexibility in start times. The role is fully remote, though the team member will need a private home office space and may occasionally come in person for quarterly team building.
The Trauma Registrar prioritizes and coordinates Trauma Registry activities to meet schedules and deadlines, maintain accurate procedures and practices, and support the collection and coordination of Trauma Performance Improvement statistics. The role involves data entry into a computerized management system, serving as a liaison with the Trauma Program Manager, Medical Director(s), and trauma staff, and providing scheduled and ad hoc reports.
The position also supports trauma data collection for injury research, prevention, and quality improvement tracking while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in all Trauma Registry-related matters.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license, or credentialed as EMT Paramedic, or Certified Coding Specialist Registered Health Information Technician preferred
- Trauma Registry experience preferred
- Knowledge of database management and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of statistical calculations and information display techniques
- Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, CPT, DRG, AIS, and ISS coding
- Knowledge and proficiency in medical and hospital terminology, anatomy, pathophysiology, and pharmacology
- High degree of accuracy and efficiency in processing and maintaining databases
