The ROI Specialist provides on-site support at a client facility for Release of Information (ROI) requests related to patient medical records.
Responsible for reviewing requestor information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines, locating pertinent patient data, answering questions about ROI issues, processing walk-in and physician office requests, logging requests in the ROI On-Line database, scanning records, and handling cash payments when required. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Proficiency with computer applications
- 1+ year of experience entering data into computer systems
- Internet experience required
- Ability to work independently and meet production goals
- Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail
- Dependability
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior ROI, physician office, or HIM department experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations preferred
