This entry-level role is responsible for processing release of information (ROI) requests, specifically medical record requests, in a timely and accurate manner while maintaining high-quality customer service and strict HIPAA compliance.
Position highlights
- Onsite in Redwood City, CA
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Front desk processing of medical records requests and customer service

Core responsibilities
- Receive and process requests for patient health information
- Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information
- Manage patient health records and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Prepare new patient charts and organize medical records
- Create digital images of paperwork for electronic medical records
- Respond to internal and external requests for patient records
- Answer inbound and outbound calls and assist with walk-ins
- Support administrative tasks such as fax handling, mail opening, and data entry
- Meet productivity expectations and assist with additional duties as needed
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer proficiency
- Strong data entry skills
- Professional verbal and written communication skills in English
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle accurate and compliant medical records
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to use phones, fax machines, printers, and other office equipment
- Ability to commute between locations as needed
- Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons
Preferred experience
- Healthcare or medical office experience
- Previous production- or metric-based work experience
- In-person customer service experience
- Ability to build relationships with on-site clients and customers
- Interest in process improvement and learning within Datavant
