Open Door's School-Based Health Center (SBHC) team is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Webutuck School District area. This role serves as a key point of contact for students, families, and school staff seeking medical and mental health care. Responsibilities include welcoming patients, taking vitals, coordinating services, assisting providers, documenting clinical information, supporting patient education, performing basic lab procedures, and handling medical clerical tasks in a school-based setting.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Accredited Medical Assistant certificate required
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- 1+ years of experience in a Medical Assistant position
- Superior customer service skills and experience
- Flexible, solutions-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
- Compassionate and professional manner with adolescents
- Able to travel periodically to other School Based Health Center sites in Ossining and Port Chester
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications and other data-based systems
- Able to maintain patient confidentiality and a safe environment of care
- Capable of standing/walking for long periods and lifting light medical supplies; able to reposition patients as needed
