Job Summary
The Senior Rebate Analyst is responsible for supporting daily rebate operations and mentoring rebate analysts to meet department goals and deadlines. This role provides analytical support for rebate payments, administrative fees, and compliance program payments to key national GPO customers, distributors, and assigned National Accounts within the Model N system.
The position serves as the first point of contact for Finance, Sales, National Accounts, and Commercial Contracting and Analysis groups, as well as assigned Primary GPO, National Account, and Managed Care customer operations issues. The Senior Rebate Analyst also provides rebate processing and deduction resolution support as needed.
This role requires building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with both internal and external partners and assisting the Team Lead and Senior Manager in meeting department goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Monitor daily rebate operations to ensure rebates are processed and appropriate payments are issued within contractual requirements.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to rebate analysts.
- Assist with internal and external reports and audits for the Rebates Department.
- Open IT tickets for technical issues and manage ticket status through resolution.
- Work with IT to create, redesign, and improve standard management sales reports.
- Provide ad hoc reports to management regarding GPO, IHN, and National Account customers.
- Administer, track, calculate, and process rebate payments, administrative fees, and compliance program payments.
- Review payments for completeness and accuracy.
- Enter rebate programs into Model N and generate fee and rebate reports for customers.
- Maintain open communication with the Rebates Team Lead and Senior Manager regarding department status and issues.
- Identify process and system improvement opportunities and escalate repetitive or complex discrepancies.
- Keep SOPs current and ensure the team understands rebates processes and policies.
- Analyze large data sets and provide meaningful insights to management.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the Model N system.
- Assist in training, problem solving, and system expertise.
- Conduct trend analysis on payment packages and sales history.
- Review, approve, and implement new rebate programs and amendments within Model N.
- Analyze and reconcile deductions in SAP.
- Administer, calculate, track, and process oncology rebate programs.
- Work with customers, wholesalers, and internal groups to process contract eligibility and class of trade review.
- Review and analyze memberships and contract eligibility for various GPOs.
- Support contracts by updating and maintaining contract files.
- Work with internal and external auditors to provide requested contract documentation and information.
- File contract documents according to SOPs and prepare files for records retention.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in Business or Finance.
- 3+ years of related work experience.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, medical device, or biotech industry highly desired.
- Knowledge of GPOs, Managed Care, IDNs, and wholesaler operations highly preferred.
- Ability to interface effectively with all groups and teams at all levels of the organization.
- Strong marketing and sales orientation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong Excel, PC, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively in a regulated work environment.
