This role supports the Health Information Management Department by coordinating coding and documentation activities across facility and patient types under the direction of the Coding Manager. The position helps manage uncoded encounters, supports coder training, monitors turnaround times, coordinates with vendors and clinical teams, and performs quality review work to support accurate and timely coding.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Post-high-school education in health record technology or health record administration
- RHIA, RHIA, CCS, or CPC credential required for outpatient positions
- Combination of education and experience may be considered for highly qualified candidates
- 5 years of production coding experience for the applicable patient type(s)
- Knowledge of charge master processes preferred
- Experience with 3M HDM coding/abstracting system preferred
- Experience with HealthQuest registration/billing system preferred
- Experience with Cerner Millennium EHR preferred
