The Insurance Credit Specialist supports revenue cycle operations by reviewing and analyzing accounts and credit balance reports from insurance carriers and patients. This remote role focuses on resolving patient and insurance credit balances, researching unapplied cash, correcting contractual adjustment posting errors, and communicating with payers to gather information and resolve refund issues.
The position is part of Lifepoint Health’s Medical Group Revenue Integrity team, a nationwide revenue cycle management services provider.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in insurance billing or insurance follow-up for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers required
- Experience analyzing explanation of benefits (EOBs) from various insurance companies/payers
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
- Ability to review, research, and resolve credit balance and refund issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
