The Medical Director provides medical leadership, clinical oversight, and administrative direction for a community-based health and substance use disorder program. This role is responsible for guiding the delivery of quality care, ensuring regulatory compliance, collaborating with leadership, and supporting interdisciplinary treatment planning for patients with medical and psycho-social needs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted physician licensure to practice medicine in New York
- MD or DO degree
- Proof of completion of three years of residency and fellowship, if applicable
- One year of related practice experience in substance use disorder
- Board certification in Addiction Medicine required within 4 years of hire
- National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Active and unrestricted DEA registration
- Active and unrestricted DATA 2000 Waiver (buprenorphine)
- NYS mandated Infection Control certification
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- Knowledge of ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure coding
