We are seeking a motivated Dental Assistant to join a dental practice in Saint Albans, VT. This role supports dentists and patients in a healthcare setting, with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in dental procedures, patient care, and office operations.
The position includes assisting during procedures, preparing treatment areas, supporting patient comfort and safety, and helping maintain smooth daily workflow in the office. The role is in-person and focused on providing quality dental care and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications
- Interest in beginning a career in dental assisting
- At least 18 years of age
- Available to work weekdays
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Proficiency with dental software and technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Prior dental assisting experience in general practice and specialty procedures preferred
- 1 year of dental assisting experience preferred
- X-ray certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history
- Charting and medical coding
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures
- Use CAD software for dental prosthetics
- Capture intraoral photographs and 3D digital scans
- Maintain accurate medical documentation
- Track lab cases and appointments
- Handle repair requests, inventory, and supply ordering
- Maintain equipment and the facility
