Seeking a passionate and experienced Substance Use Disorder Counselor to support adult males struggling with substance use disorders in a recovery-focused environment.
The role provides screenings, assessments, and individual and group counseling services for clients with substance use disorders. A candidate with higher qualifications may also address clients’ mental health needs.
The counselor will collaborate with the treatment team, community stakeholders, and referral sources to coordinate client services. This position reports to the Executive Director and is full-time.
Work location: In person.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proficient knowledge of ASAM, DSM 5-TR, and ICD-10
- Ability to diagnose substance use disorders
- Current license or certification, or certified intern status, as an alcohol and drug counselor, such as:
- Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC)
- Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC)
- Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor - Intern (LADC-I)
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor - Intern (CADC-I)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience providing substance use disorder counseling services
- SUD license or certification required
