Responsible for maintaining the data integrity of the Trauma Program and ensuring compliance with all regulatory entities governing trauma.
Generates metric-driven and reportable statistics, supports measurement of new processes, reports statistical data to required entities, and maintains Trauma Registry/PI databases.
This role is based in an acute care hospital environment and requires in-person work.
• Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred • College coursework in a medical field such as nursing, health information administration, or a related field • Completion of Trauma Registry Course, ICD-10 Course, AIS 2015 Course, and TNCC within 12 months of hire • Experience with medical records and abstracting data • At least one year of experience as a Trauma Registry Specialist preferred • Experience in quality management preferred • Knowledge of medical, technical, diagnostic, and procedural terminology and clinical pathology • Knowledge of pre-hospital care, emergency information, discharge information, and trauma patient characteristics • Ability to review and understand clinical information related to patient care • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access • Certified Specialist in Trauma Registrar preferred • New York State Registered Nurse license preferred • TNCC and TCAR preferred • Microsoft Office experience preferred • Customer service experience preferred
