Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including crown and bridge (Cerec), fillings, extractions, and root canals. Prepare treatment rooms, take vital signs, sterilize instruments, take dental X-rays, and support charting and documentation in electronic medical record systems. Provide patient education, assist with dental lab tasks such as impressions, maintain supplies, and follow infection control protocols.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Dental assistant experience required, with at least 1 year in general dentistry
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, medical terminology, and dental procedures
- Proficiency in dental X-rays and Cerec systems
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic technique
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow instructions from the dentist
Preferred
- Experience with patient assessment and triage
- Knowledge of dental insurance billing and coding procedures
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
