Case Manager / Addiction Counselor

The Family Recovery Program, Inc

The Family Recovery Program, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Case Manager / Addiction Counselor to join its behavioral health team in Baltimore. In this role, you will provide comprehensive case management and addiction counseling services to individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.

You will support clients through assessment, treatment planning, recovery services, counseling, and coordination with community resources. The position also includes clinical documentation, court reporting, group facilitation for IOP/OP services, and participation in program-related data tracking and outcome monitoring.

This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping parents and families access treatment, stabilize in recovery, and improve long-term outcomes through compassionate, evidence-based care.

Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.

License or certification in addiction counseling preferred.

Current Certification of Certified Supervised Counselor (CSC-AD), Certified Associate Counselor (CAC-AD), or higher, or trainee status with the ability to become fully certified within one year of employment.

Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions in clinical or community settings.

Knowledge of behavioral health therapies, including motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis management techniques.

Familiarity with medical documentation standards, ICD-9/ICD coding systems, CPT coding, and electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems.

Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.

Experience with substance abuse tracking systems such as SMART and Penelope preferred.

Ability to work effectively with diverse and vulnerable populations.

Education: Bachelor’s required.

License/Certification: ADT, CAC-AD, CSC-AD required.
