The Revenue Cycle Consulting Analyst supports Senior Consultants across client engagements by providing data analytics, high-volume claims review, financial modeling, project coordination, and client-ready deliverables. The role works closely with senior team members to keep engagements organized, timely, and aligned with client expectations, especially on projects involving significant claims-level analysis.
This is a client-facing consulting support role with increasing ownership over time. The position is designed for someone with a foundation in healthcare finance, data analytics, or revenue cycle who wants to grow into broader consulting responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support data collection, cleaning, and structuring for client revenue cycle management assessments across specialties
- Conduct manual review of denied claims, payer policies, and accounts receivable aging data to identify patterns and quantify revenue leakage
- Build and maintain financial models and dashboards used in client-facing assessments
- Translate raw data into findings, opportunity sizing, and recommendations for client finance leadership
- Track engagement timelines, milestones, and follow-up items across active workstreams
- Coordinate meeting preparation and documentation for client and internal working sessions
- Support workflow mapping across front-end, mid-cycle, and back-end revenue cycle processes
- Assist with process optimization and root cause analysis to identify underlying process breakdowns
- Prepare reports, decks, and one-pagers for client presentations
- Maintain engagement status trackers and timelines on an ongoing basis
- Take ownership of smaller client engagements or workstreams as skills develop
- Build toward independently running client assessments and presenting findings
Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field required
- 1-3 years of experience in healthcare finance, revenue cycle management, data analytics, or a related consulting role
Qualifications
- Comfortable building financial models from raw, messy data
- Strong written communication skills and ability to turn data into a clear narrative
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and building useful outputs from rough direction
- Interest in hospital and physician practice reimbursement processes
- Excel proficiency, including models, pivot tables, and formulas
- Experience with Power BI or a similar BI/dashboarding tool
- SQL or a comparable query language for pulling and shaping data
- Familiarity with EHR or practice management systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Prior exposure to complex or high-volume specialty billing such as oncology or radiology is a plus
- CRCR or CHFP certification, or progress toward either, is a plus
- Familiarity with HFMA or RBMA is a plus
