GDIT is supporting the Indian Health Service (IHS) mission and helping modernize the Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform to improve data access, patient experience, and quality of care across tribes and medical facilities.
The Clinical Informaticist will support the IHS Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) program by providing clinical support to the client and serving as an expert role model in the integration of information technology in healthcare settings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Represent clinical interests in partnerships with clinical, operational, and IT leadership to translate clinical needs into information system needs.
- Provide workflow analysis, project implementation, and operational support.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for inpatient nursing, ancillary fields, and corporate partners to establish and share best practices for integrated technologies.
- Identify high-value opportunities for solutions to clinical workflow and operational barriers based on data and observation.
- Support modern EHR and clinical technology initiatives in a healthcare environment.
The role is remote within the USA and may require up to 25% travel.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of experience supporting medium to large IT projects.
- Knowledge of Indian Health Service workflows.
- Extensive knowledge of Oracle Health platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Specific knowledge of inpatient nursing, ancillary, and rehab workflows.
- Proficiency with clinical decision support tools, workflow automation, and clinical documentation tools.
- Experience working in clinical informatics or a clinical setting with health IT experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the year if needed.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.
