Providence is seeking a Clinical Informatics Lab Specialist to support laboratory components of the EHR, clinical decision support, and laboratory-specific information systems associated with laboratory testing.
This role works collaboratively with key contributors and other informatics lab specialists to design and develop effective laboratory workflows, operational processes, and system functions that drive optimal outcomes and efficiencies. The specialist also supports leadership decision-making through data gathering and sophisticated analysis, and helps implement change aligned with patient safety, strategic, and regulatory goals.
The position is remote and can sit within Providence's footprint in AK, WA, OR, MT, CA, and TX. Workplace type is hybrid.
Key responsibilities include technical and application support for laboratory information systems, system design documentation, liaison work between laboratory stakeholders and build teams, workflow optimization, system maintenance, testing updates, and training support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Informatics, Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related science, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 or more years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Training in laboratory informatics/administration or equivalent coursework/training
- Medical Technologist credential upon hire, or Medical Laboratory Scientist credential upon hire, or Medical Laboratory Technician credential upon hire
- 1 year of experience with technology-related certification and proficiency

- May be required to work on-call, after hours, variable shifts, and weekends
