The Clinical Informatics Lab Specialist supports laboratory components of the EHR, clinical decision support, and laboratory information systems. This role works independently and collaboratively to design and improve laboratory workflows, operational processes, and system functions that drive efficiency and better outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical and application expertise for laboratory information systems
- Recommending enhancements and modifications to improve existing systems
- Supporting laboratory computer system operations and troubleshooting needs
- Documenting system design and workflow processes
- Serving as a liaison between laboratory stakeholders and build teams
- Supporting testing of updates and new releases prior to production
- Assisting with training materials and change communication
- Ensuring compliance with health system objectives, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Participating in frequent regional travel, on-call, after-hours, and weekend work as needed
Requirements & Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Informatics, Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related science field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 or more years of related experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Training in laboratory informatics/administration or equivalent
- Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Technician credential upon hire
- 1 year of experience with technology-related certification and proficiency

- Broad knowledge of healthcare trends and changes
