The ROI Specialist provides support at a specified client site for release of information requests for patient medical records.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing requestor information and determining which records can be released in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Obtaining relevant patient data from electronic, off-site, or physical records
- Answering phone calls regarding ROI issues
- Responding to walk-in customers requesting medical records and logging customer information into the ROI On-Line database
- Processing priority requests from physician offices and faxing information as needed
- Logging medical record requests into the ROI On-Line database
- Scanning medical records into the ROI On-Line database
- Complying with site facility policies and regulations
- Handling and recording cash payments for requests at specified sites
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications
Required qualifications include:
- Proficiency using computer applications
- One or more years of experience entering data into computer systems
- Experience using the internet
- Ability to work independently and meet production goals
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated success responding to customer inquiries
- Ability to work in an environment requiring strong attention to detail
- Proven dependability
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred qualifications include:
- Prior ROI experience in a physician's office or HIM department
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
