Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Evening Shift
Location: Moberly, MO
Shift: Full-time, evening shift, no call
Incentive: $10,000 sign-on bonus and up to $10,000 student loan repayment assistance
As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will perform routine and specialized diagnostic testing on blood, body fluids, and other biological specimens to deliver timely and accurate patient data. You will work under strict quality control standards and regulatory guidelines, maintain laboratory equipment, and collaborate with the clinical team to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform moderate and high-complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely reporting and documentation.
- Follow quality control protocols, evaluate QC data, troubleshoot out-of-range results, and resolve technical issues.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation; perform preventative maintenance and escalate issues as needed.
- Collect, process, and document chain-of-custody urine drug screens; assist with phlebotomy duties as required.
- Follow infection control, safety, and PPE guidelines to maintain a secure work environment.
- Use laboratory computer systems to manage, track, and record data in compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science / Medical Laboratory Technology; or completion of an official military Medical Laboratory Procedures course (50-week minimum) with the Medical Laboratory Specialist MOS.
- 0–2 years of acute care laboratory experience.
- Medical Lab Technician certification through ASCP, AMT, AAB, HEW, or an equivalent national certification agency.
- State licensure where applicable.
- Strong understanding of laboratory testing principles, quality control, and infection control procedures.
- Proficiency in instrument operation, standard maintenance, and technical troubleshooting.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-department collaboration.
