Board-certified neurologist opportunity in a long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) setting. The role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients with complex neurological conditions while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary care team to support comprehensive, patient-centered care.
The position is a long-term contract with flexible daytime hours, Monday through Friday, approximately 3–4 hours per day. The role focuses on inpatient neurological care for medically complex patients and supporting continuity of care throughout the patient's stay.
Minimum qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Completion of an accredited Neurology residency program
- Board certification in Neurology
- Current and unrestricted Illinois medical license, or eligibility to obtain and maintain licensure
- Current DEA registration, as applicable to the scope of practice
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in an LTACH, acute care hospital, critical care, rehabilitation, or other medically complex patient-care setting
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Knowledge of EEG procedures and accurate patient documentation
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
- Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams
- Additional training or subspecialty expertise in stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, neuromuscular disease, or neurodegenerative disorders
The compensation structure may include eligibility for a discretionary annual incentive program based on individual and organizational performance.
