Datavant is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Release of Information (ROI) Health Information Specialist to support MedStar Hospitals in the area. This onsite role is responsible for processing medical record requests, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and ensuring the accurate and timely release of protected health information (PHI).
The position supports all MedStar hospitals and requires commuting between locations as needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST. Datavant provides hands-on, role-specific training during the first 30 days.
Requirements & Qualifications

- Strong communication skills
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
- Computer proficiency and data entry accuracy
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to commute between locations as needed
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
- Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality standards
