RN opportunity on a newly opened Medical/Behavioral Health Specialty Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a Magnet-designated Level 1 Trauma Center in Roanoke, Virginia. The unit is a specialized 12-bed inpatient setting dedicated to adult patients with complex medical conditions, co-occurring behavioral health needs, and substance use disorders.
The care team provides evidence-based, compassionate care focused on assessment, stabilization, treatment, and recovery. RNs collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, therapists, case managers, addiction specialists, and behavioral health professionals to support safe, effective, patient-centered care.
This role involves providing professional nursing care across all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
Minimum Requirements
- Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program
- Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or eligibility to obtain licensure
- AHA BLS-HCP required
- Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area
- Keyboarding skills and computer literacy, including use of electronic medical records
- For Behavioral Health roles, ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients
- No prior experience required
