Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support primary care services at its Lakeland, FL health centers.

The Medical Assistant serves as a key part of the care team, working closely with a primary care physician to provide excellent patient care and an exceptional guest experience. In this role, you will support both front desk and clinical functions, helping manage the full patient experience from check-in to follow-up.

Health Center Locations:

  • 3215 Winter Lake Rd, Lakeland, FL 33803
  • 631B US Highway 17 92 W, Haines City, FL 33844

Schedule:

  • Four 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday: 6:00 AM–5:00 PM or 7:00 AM–6:00 PM
  • Rotating Saturday shift: 7:00 AM–12:00 PM
Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in primary care
  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or related program
  • National or state-specific Medical Assistant certification or registration preferred; required where mandated by state law
  • CPR/BLS certification required at start date
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients, prepare exam rooms, and maintain a clean and stocked clinical space
  • Review medical information and gather updated patient health information
  • Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations under provider direction
  • Support patient care planning and close care gaps with the care team
  • Perform front desk duties including scheduling, check-in, check-out, record requests, abstraction, referrals, and coordination of outside care
  • Document accurate and pertinent information in the medical record
  • Process test results and communicate results as directed by the provider
  • Participate in patient outreach and engagement efforts
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment
