Experienced Physician Assistant needed to join a cardiology practice in Rockville, Maryland. In this outpatient role, you will work under the direction of a supervising physician and collaborate with the care team to provide high-quality cardiac care. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with scheduled on-call hours. Hospital rounding is not required.
Responsibilities include performing comprehensive physical examinations, diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, and chronic illnesses, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, performing exercise stress tests when authorized, prescribing and managing cardiac medications, educating patients on disease management and prevention, coordinating referrals, and communicating with collaborating physicians and specialists.
- 2+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant in cardiology
- Proficiency in ECG interpretation
- Valid and unrestricted Maryland Physician Assistant license
- Current and unrestricted DEA license
- Current NCCPA board certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Strong multitasking, prioritization, and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong clinical acumen and commitment to evidence-based practice
- Proficiency with electronic medical records; eClinicalWorks preferred
