The Columbus Organization is seeking a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician to provide comprehensive medical care at Naval Medical Center San Diego. This full-time opportunity offers a consistent Monday-Friday schedule in a collaborative military healthcare environment supporting Active-Duty Service Members, their families, and other eligible beneficiaries.
The physician will provide outpatient internal medicine services, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions while working with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary and internal medicine care for adult patients
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
- Perform complete history and physical examinations
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe medications and monitor patient response
- Provide preventive health services and patient education
- Coordinate specialty referrals and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, specialists, and ancillary staff
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with applicable military, federal, and organizational policies
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine
- Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia
- Current DEA registration, if required by the contract
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required
- Must meet all credentialing and privileging requirements established by the military treatment facility
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Military Treatment Facility (MTF), Department of Defense (DoD), or Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare system preferred
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
