WellNow Urgent Care is offering a minimum 9-month fellowship for Physician Assistants and Family Nurse Practitioners to gain enhanced clinical experience in urgent care medicine.
Fellows will train under experienced clinical faculty and work hands-on in urgent care settings while receiving guided didactic curriculum and ongoing lectures. The program is designed to build competence in urgent care practice and prepare providers for success in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Examining, diagnosing, and treating patients of all ages with acute illnesses, injuries, and exacerbations of chronic disease
- Ordering evidence-based testing, prescribing medications, and referring patients to outside specialists as needed
- Providing occupational medicine services, including DOT exams and treatment of workers' compensation injuries
- Performing pre-participation physicals for camps, sports, and employment
- Maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient charts
- Documenting patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Requirements & Qualifications
Education and licensing
- Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner program
- Active board certification with NCCPA for Physician Assistants
- Active board certification with AANP or ANCC for Family Nurse Practitioners
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner in the state of application
