Job Summary

The Physician at the Chehalis Tribal Wellness Center (CTWC) is responsible for delivering high-quality, comprehensive primary care services in accordance with Indian Health Services (IHS) standards and tribal health priorities. Working closely with the Medical Director and a multidisciplinary team, the Physician ensures the effective delivery of medical care to the tribal community while upholding the mission, vision, and values of CTWC. The role focuses on providing patient-centered care in a culturally sensitive manner and ensuring operational excellence in compliance with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, accrediting organization standards, and IHS standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic care to manage both acute and chronic conditions.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures, ensuring timely and effective patient care.
• Deliver emergency care and crisis intervention, stabilizing patients as needed for transport.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with IHS standards and clinic guidelines.
• Educate patients and families on preventive care, prescribed treatments, and long-term wellness strategies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer reviews, supporting the continuous enhancement of care standards.
• Collaborate with the Medical Director to design and implement clinical services that address tribal health needs and priorities.
• Coordinate care with external specialists and public health agencies, contributing to tribal health initiatives and fostering partnerships.
• Lead by example, promoting cultural sensitivity, teamwork, and professionalism in all aspects of patient care.
• Assist in developing educational programs for patients, staff, and the community to promote health literacy and disease prevention.
