This system is designed to assist healthcare professionals in performing therapeutic or diagnostic procedures involving the spine. The guidance system operates in real-time, analyzing epidural pressure to provide critical feedback on the anatomical placement of the needle. Prior to the procedure, the injection site is thoroughly cleansed, and a local anesthetic is administered to minimize discomfort for the patient. The system consists of an epidural catheter connected to a console pressure sensor, with the other end attached to the needle. As the physician introduces the needle into the epidural or subarachnoid space, they may utilize imaging techniques such as fluoroscopy or computed tomography (CT) for additional guidance.
